LGBTQIA+ ADHD Drop-In Group
Format: Informal, come-as-you-are style
Access First. No pressure. No expectations.
6:00–6:15 PM – Soft Arrival
Doors open, come in and settle at your own pace.
Light snacks, hot drinks, stim toys, and comfy seating available.
Visual schedule posted near entrance for easy reference.
Optional name/pronoun stickers and a “social battery” sticker system (green = open to chat, red = need quiet).
6:15–6:30 PM – Group Welcome
Brief welcome from facilitators (sitting down).
Overview of the space, zones, and schedule.
Explanation of the 3 zones:
Talking Zone – for open conversations with others.
Activity Zone – for creative activities, art, journaling, and prompts.
Quiet Zone – for relaxation, low-stimulus space, and private reflection.
Explanation of prompt tables (optional to use, no need to follow them) – informal conversation starters for those who prefer direction.
6:30–7:30 PM – Free-flowing Drop-In
Move freely between the 3 zones:
Talking Zone – Sit and chat with others, share experiences, or just listen.
Activity Zone – Creative corner with art supplies, zine-making, journaling materials, and prompts.
Quiet Zone – Low-noise area for relaxation, self-reflection, or a break.
Comfort Breaks: Step outside or rest in a quiet corner as needed. No pressure to stay in one area or interact — you’re free to move around based on your mood.
7:30–7:45 PM – Optional Share-Back / Group Wind-Down
Opportunity to reflect on the evening or share anything you’ve made.
No pressure to speak or participate — feel free to just listen or relax.
Feedback available through a short anonymous handout or QR code.
7:45–8:00 PM – Close & Resource Sharing
Info table with ADHD and LGBTQIA+ resources.
Option to sign up for updates on future events.
Gentle goodbye — no rush, leave when you're ready.
Access Notes:
No requirement to stand at any point.
Chairs with backs available.
Printouts/handouts at the activity zone for optional use.
Multiple communication styles welcomed (verbal, written, AAC, etc.).
If requested in advance, we can provide access support (e.g., BSL interpreter, sensory kits, or support volunteer).
